The Independence Day celebration at the college was held on August 15, 2024, with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The event was attended by students, faculty members, and staff of the college. The celebrations began with a flag-hoisting ceremony by the chief guest, Mr. G. Devaraj, Mr. G. Sambath Naidu, and principal, Dr. N. Tamilselvan. The National Anthem was sung by the students and faculty members with great pride. Following the flag hoisting ceremony, Dr. N. Tamilselvan delivered the patriotic speech. In his speech, Dr. N. Tamilselvan paid tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the independence of our country. He also urged the students to be proud of their heritage and to contribute towards building a strong and prosperous India. Followed by Mr. G. Sambath Naidu, District Farmer Production & Grievance member, Vellore, and Mr. G. Devaraj, Former Head Sugarcane Research Station, TNAU Melalathur, addressed the gathering. The program was well received by the audience. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the various competitions that were held as part of the celebrations. The Independence Day celebrations at the college were a great success. They helped to instill a sense of patriotism and pride in the students and faculty members. The event also served as a reminder of the sacrifices that were made by our freedom fighters to secure our independence. At last, a tree planting program was conducted in the presence of the chief guest, principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, and along with the final year students. The event was well organised in association with the principal and NSS team. During the event, teaching and non-teaching staff’s, students, securities, and housekeeping were present.
